Capturing family is definitely a high priority for me. Coming from a wonderful family and so many grand memories with my parents and siblings make me smile and I can talk about it for hours - maybe days if you let me! Family can be tumultuous sometimes, too. Divorce happens, death happens, and sometimes things that break our hearts happen. No reason, no warning... they just happen. Capturing the happy times and freezing those memories can sometimes be the only thing to get us through those hard times. Capturing the smiles, the favorite outfits, and the love between a family is important. It's important to me to capture your family how they are now. I'm not going to make you "fake it til you make it," but capture the goofiness of right now. The life you have worked so hard for and the love you experience daily with your significant other, children, and pets! The family below is a true example of that. Our session was filled with laughter here in Charleston, SC and so much personality! The kids were full of excitement telling me about summer camps coming to an end and what classes they were excited for in the upcoming school year. Mom & Dad were just coming from work and telling me all about the busy schedules and it was so much fun to have such a loving family in the studio. Of course, beautiful portraits followed. I love this family and they are truly such wonderful people and make such a phenomenal family.
"Maria is a talented photographer, choreographer, artist and business owner all rolled into one! I grew up doing photography so I recognize how many variables go into making images that are beautiful, mesmerizing and timeless. Maria has definitely mastered her art and her work stands alone. Thank you, Maria and Marti, for the wonderful gift of these portraits! You make a wonderful team and it truly was a delight to work with you both!"
