Something that always catches my eye when someone sends in a form to be contacted is age. Age is an important factor when considering A Charleston Santa Experience and I always suggest to wait for the "golden years" of 5-10. Now, that isn't to say we don't have kids of all ages join us! We've had clients as old as 21 and clients as young as 3 months. I'm just saying with working with so many children of different age ranges that I've found the younger the child, the more scared they tend to be of Santa. We don't just sit the child near Santa and pose them here; it's an experience. They share milk & cookies, they paint magic in the air, and check the nice list. They do so much with Santa that can't be done if they're terrified of him. We aim for the kids to have fun & laugh with Santa. We want them to leave our studio here in Charleston, SC and talk about their time with Santa with fondness.
These kiddos were 5, 3, and 1. Adorable little boys but they would not step foot near Santa. They were very scared and didn't want to be in the same room as him. Luckily, I am a portrait artist and can paint them together for the perfect painting! The end product looks like they were having fun and loving their time with Santa!!!!!!! I can do anything you think of, but it doesn't give the memories we aim for. Prime ages would've been to wait two or three years when the boys were 8, 6, and 4. They would've been so excited and had the best time with Santa and left here giggling and wanting to come back! The youngest would've still been young but siblings always tend to follow their older siblings around and go with the flow! So even if a sibling is on the younger side - with older siblings it always works out! It creates comfort and makes the experience more enjoyable.
