As an artist in Charleston, SC, I always have the bigger picture in my mind. I can see a vision when I walk into a home or when my clients show me a picture of a space they're looking to fill. A portrait is meant to be displayed and a piece of art! I love focusing on wall portraits because they're not only gorgeous, but a beautifully unique statement piece of your home. 11x14 fine art pieces are beautiful as well, but those to me are tabletop pieces. They're almost too small to catch your eye on the wall! You have to get close to appreciate all the small fine details of a portrait.
I always go over sizing with my clients and there's a reason I like wall portraits or collections. A statement piece is going to be a conversation starter. That beautiful painting on the wall that everyone just 'ooh's & ahh's" over. The one that you look at and get a burst of butterflies. It's gorgeous, it pulls your entire room together, and it makes the wall look defined. Or what about a collection? These are smaller pieces put together to make the wall look fuller. Sometimes you can add more than just portraits with a collection, whether it be another art piece or a mirror. . . sometimes clients like this option because you can add on to it later! It's not about the one portrait, but about a collection of them. It's truly up to each client what they decide is best for their space. Balance is always key when deciding which option is better for you. We always go over your space and I even encourage you to take me on a visual journey of what your space looks like!!!! Will it go above the couch? Is it a loveseat or couch? In the foyer? Maybe above a king sized bed?
Regardless of where you put your art . . . it's always more beautiful in your home than on a phone. Display your beautiful artwork! You won't regret it.
