Becoming a new mom can be stressful! So much has changed since I became a new mom. Can you believe that my children are now considered adults????? I say 'considered' because they'll always be my babies! Between all the different brands of equipment to pick from or the decisions you're having to make - it can be overwhelming and confusing! One thing that should always be done, though, is newborn portraits. Capturing the baby is so important, especially because the newborn stage is probably the most fleeting stage you'll go through. Babies change daily. You may be wondering HOW? No one changes in a day - but YES, a baby does! When you bring them in for that one week check up, they already seem so much bigger. They already take up more space in your arms and they've already grown! It's hard to believe. You'll NEVER get that back. You may have more children, but you'll never get them being that small again. So cute and innocent! I always like to offer newborn portraits within the home and I tell you why HERE! Or even studio portraits captured HERE!!
What you may forget is capturing the newborn stage is important but so is capturing them along the way! If you think they change so much in days and weeks - wait until you see them change yearly! Seeing how they change physically is a shock but so is how they change personality wise. Take a look at this sweet girl! You definitely get a sense of her personality shining right through her one year old portraits! Every year her face structure will change ever so slightly and so will the way she shows herself to the world. She may not smile like that forever . . . She may cross her arms across her chest or stand with her hand on her hip. It's things that people may not notice - just posing for the camera - but YOU will notice. You'll always look back and say "Yup, that was his/her signature smile or pose" and it's important to capture that!
