There are so many reasons I love being a photographer in Charleston, SC. I love creating beautiful portraits in my studio in Charleston that are loved and cherished for a lifetime. My clients make it easy for me and they bring a smile to my face!!! Some of my favorite clients just happen to have 4 furry legs and a lot of wet sloppy kisses! Just in the past three months I have worked with over 60 dogs and each one was such a joy! We had our Boykin Rescue Event for the Boykin Spaniel Rescue and our Dorchester Paws Event for Dorchester Paws! I've also worked with many sizes and breeds in between those events here in Charleston SC! Check out my Fur Gallery!!!
I've worked with so many pets over the course of 15 years and some of the time clients leave my studio frustrated that I got nothing. Truth is, I don't let you leave until I KNOW I have an incredible portrait!!! It doesn't matter if you have 1 or 5 dogs I KNOW I can make something beautiful for each client that walks into my studio. It's not always easy! Some dogs have anxiety and that is PERFECTLY FINE WITH ME! We have tips and tricks to help this. We make them feel comfortable in the studio, give them plenty of pets, and treats if they want! We work hard with what we have and love all our furry friends.
If you have more than one furry little family member, that doesn't scare me either. Let's face it - most dogs want to play with each other and not sit still. That's just a way of life! We know this and we overcome it. I photograph each pup individually and then paint them together. No extra stress for them! I explain my process in this BLOG post so you can fully understand how it's done. The more calm the environment, the more calm a dog tends to be.
We work with a lot of patience and love for our furry clients!! I love greeting them and working with them to get the most beautiful images for you. They aren't JUST pets to you . . . They're FAMILY!
"I am so happy with the beautiful creations Maria created of my Tallulah! Lou was not cooperating at all, but Maria was patient and worked with us to create an image that IS my Tallulah! She captured her expressions and attitude in every image and I couldn't be more thankful!"
